The Work This Week: July 14th, 2013

Welcome to the ninth issue of The Work This Week, a weekly roundup of new advertising, identity, and brand experience work from around the airline industry. This week, Aeroflot celebrates its 90th anniversary, Singapore Airlines reveals a new cabin, and KLM redesigns its logo using the last font you’d expect.

  • Virgin Atlantic revealed new uniforms by legendary punk fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. The uniforms are now being wear-tested with a full launch anticipated next year. Source: The Design Air.
  • To celebrate their 90th anniversary, Aeroflot introduced a special livery on a Russian-built Sukhoi Superjet 100. The design, based on a sketch by Alexander Sosnowski, was selected from a pool of 7,000 entries.

  • Singapore Airlines launched new cabin designs, and, well… they don’t suck. To put it mildly. Particularly if you’re flying in First or Business. Agency: BMW Group DesignworksUSA.

  • They say if you travel far enough you will eventually find a tiny plastic figurine of yourself. Or maybe they say that in Japan. How else to explain MUJI To Go, a partnership with All Nippon Airways? Source: Creativity
